Florida is a portfolio state — you keep the portfolio at home, show it to your annual evaluator, and preserve it for two years. Keep all of the following:
What to keep
A log of educational texts and materials used during the year (required by statute)
Samples of your child's work(worksheets, writing, projects, photos of hands-on work)
A record of your annual evaluation(which of the five methods you chose, plus the evaluator's report or test scores)
A copy of your Notice of Intent(and, when you end the program, the termination notice and final evaluation)
Retain the portfolio for at least two years

Within 30 days of startingFile your one-time Notice of Intent with the county superintendent.
All year longKeep the portfolio current — the materials log and work samples — as you go.
AnnuallyComplete an annual evaluation using the method you choose (certified-teacher portfolio review, a nationally normed test, the state assessment, a licensed psychologist, or a method agreed with the superintendent).
Within 30 days of ending the programFile a notice of termination, with the final evaluation, with the county.
